90% in Y, sometimes Y+. C for RTWs.
(3) How many miles do you usually fly each year?
On *Alliance, usually zero. But let's just say around 20k in the future perhaps.
(4) Do you have any kind of status at present? What is it?
Qantas Gold (oneworld Sapphire), Virgin Australia Velocity Gold (Status matched)
(5) What is most important to you in a FFP?
The purpose of joining a *Alliance program for me is simply earn/burn. Don't care about status as I will not be flying *A often. A program that has good award redemptions/upgrades is ideal. (I am not looking to get points via CC. I do that already for QFF)
(6) Which routes do you fly most often?
I will only be flying *A for routes that are not covered extensively by oneworld. Recently I have been flying some intra-europe flights. Most of them have either Germany or Switzerland as point of departure or arrival: usually ZRH, FRA, and STR.
(7) Preferred Airlines?
Singapore, Thai Airways, Air New Zealand. But they don't really cover what I am mainly using this for (i.e., intra-europe). Other than that haven't flown much *A.
(8) Do you travel for work or pleasure?
Pleasure only. Patterns are very erratic. I can travel enough to attain QFF Gold one year and then the next only do one SYD-MEL r/t. Therefore a program without points expiry (or at least for them not to expire as long as there is some activity) would be ideal.
Thanks for all the expertise here. I really know nothing about *A hehe.
20k miles is the threshold for A3 *G. The earn/burn is decent on A3 (nothing special), but *G can really improve the flying experience on *A...
