Wait, after "customs" you have your checked bags with you, of course. How can those be brought into the departure concourse? Something doesn't add up here. Knives, guns, liquids, etc. can all be in your checked bag, how does that get to the taxi?

From truly "international" flights, that is (no border pre-clearance).
