Okay, I will take you up on your offer to get down to specifics. I hope you won't mind if the specific I discuss has directly to do with one of the forums you moderate.

There is a very specific section of the TOS which reads:

"Attacks against groups or classes of job holders (such as Transportation Security Administration employees) will not be tolerated."

Please note that I did not insert the words "Transportation Security Administration" -- they appear in the original quote. Interestingly enough, while this prohibition applies to all groups/classes of job holders, it was only the TSA which the writers felt required specification.

This is not a new part of the TOS. It was placed in the TOS in 2005 -- 6 years ago.

Despite what you say about "mods are tasked with enforcing the TOS in toto" it is only in recent months that this was enforced at all. TS&S is loaded with posts calling TSA screeners "failed hamburger flippers", "smurfs", etc, not to mention the perennial favorite "perverts".

(A quick search of the TS&S forum came up with 479 posts using that term.)

I believe that I have not been vague in this post and I feel that this example is, indeed, "very illuminating" as to whether or not moderators enforce the TOS "in toto".
