I just completed a booking to Europe for the first time, on a pay economy FFP points and get a business ticket..

I needed 4 business class seats.. sort of like shoehorning something almost impossible.. so I checked from YYC.. CUN, MCO, HI, Australia, etc.. Finally got something in London Heathrow..

My wife has been wanting to visit Europe.. and I've never been, so this will be the very first time for me. So for 60,000 points per seat, total 240,000.. we booked economy points for business class seats.. With stops to NY going, and Toronto coming back..

Plus bonus, we'll be at the London Olympics.^ Didn't know until we finished booking.

The lowest priced ticket without stopovers from Calgary to London on Business is $4,750 approximately per seat.. So 6.3 cents per mile..

Usually I just book Y, but can see how the value of the bookings jump when booking business and first.
