LoL true....being on the banks e-mail list usually gets you the crappy lowball offers...you have to get on the partners e-mail list, either from allowing the bank to share your info or joining multiple programs in the hopes of getting targeted...3 months after I joined priority club (getting comp platinum status), I was targeted for the 80k credit card offer. I got some free cruises (taxes only) over new years eve, in a balcony cabin, with a free drink pass, because Harrahs put me on the list with NCL.....after joining Carnival cruises casino players club, they partnered with the palazzo in vegas and gave us 5 free nights and $300 freeplay, dinners and drinks.....mind you we don't gamble much ($300-$500 a trip) but the promotion was not based on play, but first come- first served!! Just being on the player list was good enough!!
If you want offers, sign up for every loyalty program you can, and opt in to e-mail lists and information sharing among partners. Be sure to check for sign up bonuses for joining the program as well.
