I did exactly that: applied for the TY Preferred and Premier on the same day. I got two inquiries. One of the decisions was instant (approved), the other took a couple days (denied, based on too many inquiries). I'm not even convinced the same dept at Citi is managing both TY card approvals.
Wow, good to know. I was thinking about applying for the two TY cards, under the assumption that they would be combined into 1 hit.... I have come to expect Citi to be consistently inconsistent.
