For the record, StarFlyer does earn mileage with UA if it has an NH flight number. UA sells tickets on StarFlyer, for example as part of a SFO-KIX-HND itinerary.
Is this really correct re earning UA miles? This would normally only be the case if the flight is a wet lease and it's not.
I used miles on HND-KIX in early October. 6000 miles and no tax. One thing that I found out is that I had to check in with ANA. I went all the way to the end where some other LCC (green was their primary color) was handling check-in for Starflyer. So if you are *G then just head straight to the ANA premium check-in lobby.
