I actually think HKG-BOS could work in the future. There is certainly a lot of student demand, and I always see J passengers on the HKG-YYZ flights connecting on to BOS. But perhaps this is still not enough demand, and probably not enough premium demand.

Certainly for BOS the 77W is too big, so they would need a smaller aircraft to fly the route. It will be interesting to see how JL do when they start flying 787 to BOS from Tokyo.
