Thanks for the information. We had a nice room (839) which was half a suite and looked south with a little bit of window looking west. So we could see the ocean, beach, pool, Collins Av, and Biscayne Bay.

The room was a decent size but tired -- a few extra holes where other pictures must have been, furniture and decorations didn't really go. Apparently this was the original strip that was "Miami Beach" back in the 50s and 60s.

Valet parking (no other choice) is now U$18 per day.

But you didn't mention the most significant aspect, the usurious phone rates. From memory, here's what we've encountered (I'm saving the best -- or worst -- for last).

Boca Suites: $1 for local or 800 calls, 60min limit per call (after that, a per-minute charge); high-speed for $11.50 per day.

Key West: 75c for local, free for 800 calls, no time limit (so we could have dialled up to NetZero on arrival and left the line open for three days!); high-speed not available.

Boca Bridge: $1 for local, free for 800 calls, not sure of time limit since there's FREE HIGH SPEED.

Deauville Miami Beach: $1 for local with a THREE minute limit (!!!!!), free for 800 calls (so we could have used our 1.4c/min calling card to call NetZero); high speed not available.
