Old thread but I'm going to re-open it..... I found this in thread in a search the other week when I was in a hotel in Indianapolis that had a motion sensor thermostat aimed at the bathroom (an Inncom thermostat). The VIP mode was crucial to my comfort! Also, the fan was set to revert to Auto a few minutes after I set it to constant On. All I can say that the Inncom company should not put their programming instructions on the internet.....

If I were staying there more than one night I would have just set the "Timeouts" to "off" if possible or if not then a really long time. Future guests will thank you.
Then, I was in North Carolina in a room with a standard Amana PTAC system. Most of the Amana PTACs I have run into are just controlled from the panel, and the most I need to do is to re-program it to leave the fan on all the time. This particular PTAC had the remote thermostat and motion sensor/door switch option. A new challenge!
First I attempted to unpair the motion sensor/door switch. Entering the pairing mode, I re-paired the thermostat only, as the instructions said that when adding a new wireless thermostat or switch, all wireless devices must be re-paired. Alas, I couldn't get the door switch to unpair. So instead, I went for the setback settings.
This is a pretty "sophisticated" door switch. If you open and close the door, and it senses motion, then you must have entered the room. If you open and close the door and it doesn't sense motion, then you must have left the room. This makes it more tolerable than the Inncom thermostats, but still unacceptable. If it senses the room is empty, it waits for a time and then sets back the temperature by a preset amount. There are three time settings (i.e. 10 minutes, one hour, three hours) and one setback temperature (i.e. 2 degrees, four degrees, ten degrees) for each time setting.
So all I did was set the d8, dA, and dC settings to their maximum, 24 hours. This way, as long as you (or a maid!) enters your room once a day, your temperature will never be set back!
For reference, here are the Amana manuals (again, probably shouldn't be posted online!)

Looking forward to new challenges!!!
