I think if you had answered the FA's question "What's the rush?" with "I'm in the bulkhead, gotta get my bag stowed," the entire interaction might have been much more like what you normally expect. <shrugs>
Well, I observed her smileless face.
I was not rushing - I was the first person so there is no need to rush - I will have my space.
She happend to turn her head to me when she said it - since she was looking at me and I was the first person to board, I definitely concluded she was talking to me.
The point I was trying to make is that she turned out pretty good but the misintepretation of that initial attitude was unfortunate.
They need to pay more attention to not have that attitude. They are there to serve the passengers - not our peers and they should talk with some politeness and friendliness, if not respect.
This is even more important as non-US customers might not get the humor/attitude and think they are just rude. (Since I am Asian, I could have been a connecting passenger just arriving from NRT. Imagine how turned off and shocked a Japanese passenger would be if they encountered this.)
