How does that WAS-WAS work? I don't think there are flights between DCA/IAD/BWI are there? I've seen the same thing where LAX-LAX seems to be a possibility. Is it a remnant of when there were flights between co-terminals?
I could be wrong but I think that just means you could go direct from WAS-LAX or connect through one of the other options BOS/PHL/CLT etc.
In other words a connection isn't required.
