The tap water for the BMA, for those who have electricity and can pump it into the holding tanks, has been highly variable depending on location. I've seen some very cloudy tap water, and some with a very bad odor. The BMA and Government assures us the the water supply remains "up to WHO standards".
It may be best to go out of your way to avoid any ingesting of the tap water, but the worst result might be minor gastric distress? Understand that many food outlets use unheated tap water to wash cooking/serving utensils.
Bottled water (which is locally filtered/purified) is pretty much unavailable unless you have an existing delivery service. Water machines, ~ 1 baht/l, which offer filtered water, are getting a work-out.
We have been very fortunate in metro-Bangkok with the lack of rain. Other parts of Thailand, East and Northeast, have been getting very heavy rains.
It is sunny, partly cloudy and warm today in Bangkok. The BMA radar looks clear and the TMD forecast for the week indicates below normal rain.
It is difficult to get any real-time updates as most of the local TV channels have entertainment shows now.
Some areas near the old airport, Don Meuang, are flooding, but that's all I could glean. The televised presentation of news here is a bit frustrating; maybe no one wants to give bad news?
edited to add: Any flooding along the Chao Phraya River is reported to be minor and perhaps associated with tidal surge(s)? (From the TV news.)
