Unfortunately, I fly in E+ rather than C, so a switch to the old configuration is a good thing, all else being equal. However rarely is all else equal: Every time I've flown with a companion we've been separated, if I have chosen a particularly good seat, I lose it, etc.
The switch to the 747 will be even worse: there are no decent seats and the timing of the evening flight is way too early. If it weren't temporary, i'd be off to BA/AA.
