LH says it must keep half of its seats in F available for attribution at check-in when the flight is full, which is not an explanation. Which half I asked? They could not tell. I asked if they were especially refusing preselection of award seats, their answer was it had nothing to do with the seat being an award or not. Maybe I'm missing something?
I can't imagine F paying customers refused seating.. and preselection seating at that..
Was this an explanation you received once from LH, or multiple times? I've never heard of LH doing that neither..
