Updating your GE account with the new passport is pretty easy, however your new passport will be missing the CBP sticker in the back. That sticker isn't required, but you are supposed to make an appointment to go in and get a new one.

The benefit of the sticker is that you are supposed to be able to show it to cut some lines, but I've never run into a situation that called for it.
