Their website has much improved in the last couple of years and, apart from having issues with buying tickets with Amex cards issued abroad, I've always found it quite user-friendly and never had any major problems.
True and positive for all the travellers to Italy, but unfortunately almost everything else is a kind of middle ages.
The level of technology is really abismal, and for millions of commuters there's nothing, not even the ticket machines and the fare gates in the stations!
