I don't have high hopes for these "enhancements." A friend attended a focus in group in June where they floated a mileage earning and redemption program based on dollars spent/price of the ticket. It worked ok for any low priced ticket redemption, but expensive intl biz class tickets that cost 4-5000 would be outrageously high. Based on what he told me about the crowd's reaction, basically outrage over Delta promising loyalty and rewards for your business over the years, only to screw you, I never thought that they would go through with it. Maybe they will. Elite status still earned same way though.

Better yet, the messaging was something like, "hey we printed way too many skymiles over the years and we have noticed how hard it is to get a ticket, so we are redoing the system to make it better and easier for you."
