Just sit it out for a bit in the penalty box since you have to generate spend anyway.
Most spend now has to be met by accelerating purchases ala gift cards, prepaying expenses, or creating artificial spend via payment accounts (which incurs various fees). You can buy hotel gift cards or airline gift cards if you travel or grocery store gift cards (the proprietary no fee type) if you always shop a particular market.
You may be able to get some coin-on-a-string via Amazon Payments but you would have to have another account to pass money back and forth. And then there is the big product returned to the store game...
I'm manufacturing Delta miles by ping ponging Skymile accounts, some of the others are Home Depot Gift Carding miles with United.
$9,000 is alot of mintless spend. Do suspect gift cards are in your future.

Chase Saphire
Airtran
Venture
AA business
AA personal
Amex Premier (twice)
Amex Delta
Amex Hilton
Amex SPG personal
Amex SPG business
British Airways
US Airways
I've hit a wall now though because I keep getting rejected from too many inquiries. I guess I'll have to lay off the applications for a few months...it's so hard though, there's so many more to be had! I'm so addicted to this.
Now comes the HELP! part: I know a good way to handle the high speding requirements on non-Amex cards but I'm at a loss with my SPG Amex cards. I've got to spend $4500 on each card in 3 months. I was hoping to try the mint but of course that gets cancelled right when I need it.
I'm not sure what to do.

I read hours of posts under the Life after the Mint and other threads but I can't really find anything really that will work for me. I've already paid up my insurance policies as much as I can and I don't really have much in expenses...rent, noodles, utility, and sometimes concert tickets, that's it!
I thought about buying refundable tickets and checked out Carnival Cruise, but it costs a few hundred for a refundable ticket option. I also thought about buying gift cards but I can't really afford to have $9,000 tied up in gift cards forever. It would take me a year or two to spend that. I don't have any friends or family making large purchases either.
Any brilliant ideas out there???
