Booked a 10 day car hire online using code. At LHR, I was asked for my Avis employee ID, as it was a staff code. I argued it was a public code, to no avail.
I ended up paying rack rate, around 100 GBP more.
Elaboration over and chalked up to one of lifes experiences.
