Also I redeemed for Hilton Stay. After the elite 30% discount, I had a redemption value of around 2CPM.
Not a killer redemption rate, but I like to have an additional option on where to redeem my miles.
I have extra miles, so I was better off using them than spending the $.
I did receive gold benefits (upgrade, internet, executive lounge with breakfast/PM snacks)
I did receive stay credit.
I made sure to have incidental expenses to trigger a stay credit and points.
No taxes or surcharges.

Have used Car&Hotel stays more than 8 times this year and have been satisfied. Some great deals, some OK deals. But a great way to spend miles.
