Compared to what exactly? The Thai Bhat has not "risen quite a bit in recent times" against world currencies. And even against the battered and bruised USD (which has been very weak across the board,) over the past 6 months the Bhat has only gained about 7% or so-- but that's nothing noteworthy or significant whatsoever considering that many world currencies have been strong against the USD during this time. That increase reflects only weakness in the USD-- not any strength for the Bhat-- far from it.

Most major world currencies (excluding HKD, SGD, CAD) have done better (many substantially better) vs. USD than the Bhat during this time period. The Bhat has not shown any unusual strength whatsoever.

In fact, compared to the Euro, the Great British Pound, the Australian Dollar and the Japanese Yen the Bhat has actually lost strength since your July 12th 2003 pronouncement that Bhat would "appreciate in the near to not too far future."
