I currently have a reservation for the Courtyard Long Beach for tonight (8/31) for 1 night booked at a "Best Available Rate". When checking this morning, it looks like the "Best Available Rate" has now dropped by $20 on the Marriott website. If I call Marriott, will they honor the LNF rate and give me the extra discount or do I have to submit a form? The reason I ask is that I'm flying out this afternoon and need to have a reservation in place before I arrive.
Should I cancel the existing reservation and just book it at the new lower rate or should I try for the LNF guarantee? If I have to submit the request, will Marriott honor the LNF rate after the stay is completed if the request isn't processed today? Can I call Marriott to honor the LNF rate? This is the first time I've run into the rate actually dropping the day of my travel so any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks!
I'm not entirely sure, but I think that you must submit the form at least 24 hours before your reservation. I would still call and ask - the worst they can say is no, and you can just cancel and reserve at the cheaper rate.
