2nd clerk: I can't check it unless you buy something. Suggest you buy some candy (which I don't normally eat), and I will run it through the card and then we will credit the candy back against the card.
She runs card which says I have a $10 balance and then subtracts $1.37 for the candy.
Me: ok, why did other clerk say no balance?
2nd clerk: beats me
Me: Ok, Ok, just credit the candy back on the card and I will be taken care of.
2nd clerk: System will not allow me add the candy back on the card. It's yours.
Me: What? I don't want the candy. I thought we had an understanding and this was a test?
2nd clerk: Sorry
Me: Ok, well just give me cash for returning the candy.
2nd Clerk: Sorry, I can't do that without calling a manager and getting them to approve this.
At this time, there is a line of people behind me. I have other things to do.
Me: Just forget it.
Now, I paid $2.95 shipping for the card. Now I am into for another $1.37 which means I just paid $4.32 premium for a $10 card. What's that all about?
I am ordering a lot of these GC's. I hope this is not a sign of things to come. Maybe there is some small print that says only 1 GC can be used per purchase? Not that I know of. Frustrating and irritatiing. Next time I go into the store I am going to speak with the manager.
What a mess!!
