Any of you experts able to critique this route?
Although new to this I’ve spent a while wrapping my head round the various Alliances rules and regulations and think Oneworld is the best bet. I’m looking to do a RTW in November this year. (Incidentally I’m looking at seeing these places not just passing through.)
Am I right in thinking the following routing is OK for a OneWorld Explorer 4 Continent rules?
LON-TAS (Inter Cont Segment)
TAS-DEL (Surface via China)
DEL-HKG (Asia Segment)
HKG-SIN (Surface via Vietnam/Thailand etc)
SIN-DPS (Asia Segment)
DPS-PER or DPS-DRW (Inter Cont Segment)
PER/DRW-AYQ (SWP Segment)
AYQ-CNS (SWP Segment)
CNS-SYD (Surface)
SYD-NOU (SWP Segment)
NOU-VLI (Will buy separate Return flight from New Caledonia to Vanauatu on Air Vanuatu)
VLI-NOU (Will buy separate Return flight from New Caledonia to Vanauatu on Air Vanuatu)
NOU-SYD (SWP Segment)
SYD-AKL (SWP Segment)
AKL-PPT (Surface – Will use other FFP for single on Air NZ from AKL-PPT)
PPT-IPC (Inter Cont Segment)
IPC-SCL (South American Segment)
SCL-UIO (South American Segment)
UIO-SCL (South American Segment)
SCL-EZE (South American Segment)
EZE-MAD (Inter Cont Segment)
MAD-MRS (Europe Segment)
MRS-LON (Europe Segment)
It’d be 1 segment over the SWP limit but I could buy another segment for this for an extra 75 GBP. I’d also have an extra 2 Asia segments probably for a return flight to HKG – not sure if I’d use this or where I’d go.
Also does anyone have an opinion for the best FFP for Oneworld? Although I’m UK based, BA seems not very good, as I’m an economy traveller. I’d be looking for the best mileage from economy to use primarily for travel awards rather than upgrades. Achieving higher status/tier levels would be nice but not essential.
Thanks
