My understanding is that on the Global Explorer fares it is stopovers rather than segments which are the limiting factor (see
here for excellent collection of Oneworld rules).
Wrt your Peruvian expeditions, LanPeru is part of LanChile, so there should be some way of fitting in Lima/Cuzco, etc on your way through South America without adding too many miles (haven't done the maths yet on this). And also just looked at the Lanchile route map (
here) and seen that you can't fly from CCS-LIM, so maybe you need to go via Havana and Bogota

...
And I agree that a SCL-IPC-PPT-AKL routing should be possible on the Global Explorer (least I hope so, as that is a possibility that I am considering too

)
