One thing that keeps me away from Apple products in general is the stupid non standard charging/data cable. Most if not all Android phones use mini or micro usb and I can use the same cable for my mp3 player, kindle, or gps and don't have to
worry about bringing the right cable.

I am a backpacker so having a standard cable is huge to me. If I have to bring a cable for my kindle and a different one for my phone I just bumped up my pack weight by an ounce or so that could have been invested in a Snickers bar that could power me up the mountain.

I even found a iPod on the street the other day, but I don't have a cable so I can't recharge it and I really don't care enough to buy one. Plus the thought of having iTunes clogging up my computer makes me feel icky.
