Our local sports bar, Cobblestone's, is great-- TV's at each booth, tons of TV's at the bar, and 60+ beers on tap, most of them microbrews.
Similar concept at a sports bar outside of PIT that I frequent when I'm there.
You are right that the local sports bars are better, but it is often hard for travelers to seek them out. BWW is the safe choice. Not that I fall into this category.
