Amen, completely agree with you.

I've been a longtime Mozilla/Firefox fan, but as others have mentioned I'm growing convinced that this is simply a stunt that is being pulled to quickly catch up to competing browsers major version numbers (e.g. IE9, Opera 10, Chrome "whatever", etc.)

Very disappointing, I favor a stable, trouble free browsing experience, not a spasmodic one.
