If you move your points to Asiana, you'll get no access to UDUs, CR-1, SWU or E+ on United. To me that makes no sense if you fly in the US. There's absolutely no reason to go with an overseas carrier for Star Gold qualification unless you plan to fly OZ everywhere or you don't want to pay for lounges in the US. That's pretty much all you'll get.
If you hate UA after the changes are announced I would move to AC or US. But they have their own issues.
My problem is that I won't fly enough to hit iK next year. And I don't get upgrades cause I fly only one class baby jets in the US. Almost all my flying is international.
Asiana gives me *G after 40,000 miles and I only have to fly 40,000 every two years to requalify. It seems the best way to open up my airline choices and retain *G.
