No, that isn't his real beef at all.
His real beef is exactly the same beef that many other people (here) have with AC/AP. He doesn't like the changes to the upgrade system. He really doesn't like the near elimination of IKK. He doesn't like the fees on award tickets. For someone who pays for J tickets, there is little left. And on top of all that he perceives a decline in service level. So he will try some other airlines, as well he should.
