Dear Mr Beattie,

Thanks again for your e-mail dated 27 July.

Travelling from London to Madrid on a oneworld operated airline will qualify as
one continent (ie. Europe) in the oneworld Continent Promotion between 1 June
and 31 August 2000. "Continents are counted based on your destination
continent, not the continent you depart from" as detailed in the Juy/August 2000
Frequent Flyer Newsletter (page 3).

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us
again at the Frequent Flyer Service Centre.

Kind regards,

The rules and replies from QF get stranger and conflicting day by day. Whom should one believe. Here is the reply that I received from QF:

Thank you for your e-mail.

An intra-continent flight does not count towards the oneworld promotion. You must travel from one continent to another on a oneworld airline for the continent to count toward your total.

If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at
the Frequent Flyer Service Centre on 0345 747 100, and quote your Frequent Flyer
membership number. Of course, you can also contact us by e-mail at
[email protected] or view your account (security protected) on-line
through the Qantas website at www.qantas.com.au

Thank you for your support of Qantas and the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.

Yours sincerely,

Elissa Simpson
