This is posted in the AA forum, but I really think its more of a oneworld issue. AA recently announced that IB discount fares would only count for 30% of actual miles flown. For me, this would preclude me from ever considering flying IB again.

What is the purpose of having an alliance if there is that much disparity in how miles are accrued? What's next? AA says IB frequent flyers will only earn 30% mileage on AA?

If you're going to have an alliance, then be allies, I say. Just my .02.
