I have had the exact opposite experience. No problem getting AA to credit individual segments to multiple programmes, but no luck getting BA to do the same.

Not saying they cannot do it, but it seemed that if the change was done at the gate by BA that the change would print on the boarding pass but the original programme would still get credit.

Just a note, a Finnair agent in Turku was able to credit individual segments of my flight to JOE via HEL to seperate programmes w/o a problem.
