I was checking my AAdvantage account balance on the web today and found a new link promoting the 100K promo. Just for curiosity sake, I went to the page and guess what?
AA have modified the rules for this promo. As I pointed out in an earlier posting here, there was no specific reference on any of their original material that qualifying flights had to be mileage accruing, only that they are purchased fares marketed by the Oneworld carrier and flown on a Oneworld aircraft (if codeshare).
The new posting specifically says eligible flights must also be mileage accrual flights.
I have not had my CX flight (in a non-mileage accrual but paid fare which other Oneworld carriers grant mileage) posted for my 5th Oneworld carrier on AA as yet, but from the new promo qualifier, they are certainly aware of this matter of interpretation of their earlier wording. (I made a point in my letter to AA to say I did not expect any mileage for my CX flight, only the Oneworld bonus.)
Well, we'll see what happens.
