I'm flying into SFO late (arriving at 11:30) on Friday night in a couple of weeks, with checked bags, and picking up a rental car from Hertz when I get in. As it'll probably be at least 12:30 by the time I'm out of the airport, and 3:30 EDT, I'm planning to get a hotel near the airport to crash for the night. The airport Hyatt and Marriott seem to get generally positive vibes around here and on Tripadvisor, but the Hilton does not. I'd like to bid $75 or so on Priceline for a 4* by SFO, but don't want to get stuck at the Hilton; does anyone have any experience trying this? The posts I've seen here seem to point to people ending up at the Marriott or Hyatt, but I'm paranoid regardless and don't want to get my vacation started off on a bad foot.
