Seriously, NZ is streaks ahead of UA in pretty much every way possible (bar it's FF program):

- Decent lounges ( the LAX one is top notch.
- Staff are consistently excellent (they never ever yell at you)
- High standard of F&B.
- Clean planes
- Fairly good IFE.
- Ground staff tend to be fairly good, though not consistently good.

Mmmh have I missed anything?
Except that in Economy, I'd probably go for UA over NZ simply for getting more space. The food and IFE are definitely better on NZ in coach, but you're 10 abreast and the legroom looks really tight. For a redeye, I can ignore food and IFE if I can just have enough room to sleep. (and yes, I know this thread is about business/first)
