On a related note, I've been very unhappy to learn lately that Dial 7 is apparently charging a flat rate of $6.50 for Triboro tolls, even when the driver is using an EZPass for $4.80. The drivers are claiming this is Dial7 policy and I've written Dial7 to confirm.

Question is, who pockets the extra $1.70? If it's the driver, then my tips will be reduced commensurately. If it's Dial7, then I may take my business elsewhere.

(As forum regulars know, medallion yellow cabs are REQUIRED to use EZPass and to pass the discount along to the passenger. I couldn't find such a rule for livery vehicles, though.)
