What incentive is there for someone to reach silver status anymore? They may as well just get an Am Ex card and pay the annual fee.

Upgrades are harder for FO's to get now thanks to all the promos Delta has for fasttracks to FO, Gold and even PM.

For most FO's the one checked bag of 50-lb is a sufficient baggage allowance.

About the only advantage an FO will have over a non-status with a DL Am-ex is the ability to chose an exit row or premium seating.

If anything, they should have made Am Ex cardholders zone 3. I have been on a couple flights that were severly delayed and the GA would board zones 1 and 2 together and that has always been a mess. I can just imagine it with all the am ex cardholders.

I guess Am Ex really does own delta
