More on this longstanding rumour from the current FF Crier:

"We'll have more to say about the frequent flyer implications in future issues, but for now here's our best guess: US Airways will join the Star Alliance (comprising United, Lufthansa, Singapore, etc.) and link Dividend Miles with the frequent flyer programs of the other Star members. That too should be a plus, at least for US Airways customers."
