I had more than just an interview after I gave them my itinerary. They held me off to the side and took pictures of my passport, driving licence and called a supervisor. Apparently it's not normal to go to LAX from Canada via HKG and IST! Eventually they cleared me but they gave me all sorts of looks until I was gone.
