More good news regarding FREE LAYOVER HOTEL.

I inquired at the TK Hotel Desk this evening regarding the question someone posted about the layover hotel. Here's what I can report.

If you are on a forced layover of 10+ hours or more then you DO qualify for a free hotel paid for by TK.

In my example I flew LAX-IST-HKG departing LAX on a Sunday and arriving in Istanbul on a Monday. As no TK flight is offered IST-HKG on Monday evening I had a forced layover of more than 10 hours. This would have qualified for a free hotel stay. If I had only known...now you do.

To answer the question about miles:

Jul 14, 2011 TK 10 U Class LAX to IST 6,865
Jul 15, 2011 TK 70 U Class IST to HKG 4,965

Therefore a return trip would be 23,660 EQM into my UA account

OR 26,026 into my Air Canada Aeroplan account as they credit U at 110%.
