Again, I disagree. On a 7-15 hour flight one actually has to plan a routine in order to ensure that one can eat/sleep/work at the appropriate time and maximise productivity. Having the flexibility to tailor your routine without being encumbered by an inflexible 3 hour meal service is a huge benefit.
Still, the old meal service was never bad enough to drive me away from Emirates and the new one is probably not going to be enough to drive others away. To each their own, but a definite ^^ from me.
Now just fix the bloody A380 crews who have no clue and everything will be hunky dory again.
