As a protective gesture, I would urge you to call your credit card issuer immediately and contest the entire price of your vacation. Put the charge in dispute. Say it was a service not rendered as agreed. (You need not characterize it as a fraudulent charge -- I don't know how you feel about this travel provider -- but that's just how it ought to be treated. You paid this outfit for a service it failed to provide.)
Then call the travel provider and tell them exactly what you've done, as they'll be getting an investigative call from the credit card issuer soon enough. The travel provider can report the tickets stolen or something, but that's between them and the credit card company, not you.
This is not your fault. This is why people buy things with credit cards. Do not pay the travel provider $100 for "researching" lost tickets. That's ridiculous.
Assuming the original tickets never materialize, buy another vacation from some other, reputable travel vendor and go on your way.
