A vibrator need only vibrate, even a mobile phone can be used as one, but the simplest form is a vibrating egg-shaped object. Of course you can get penis-shaped vibrators, but it's no means necessary.

A dildo is a 'penis-shaped object' and need not vibrate, indeed under many definitions, dildos do not vibrate.

A number of years back my wife's friend, an Indonesian ladyboy (truly) asked me to buy him a vibrator from the UK. I brought it through to Indonesia no problem.

What I did not realise at the time is that such toys are actually illegal in many countries. And indeed in Alabama (you can possess but not sell). So be careful where you bring your toy. Euphemistically named 'massagers' such as the Hitachi Magic Wand (rather large and heavy for travel however) are ideal for this purpose as they are sold as medical devices.
