This is a no-win situation! Suppose you need the M&B miles to make it to *G in order to enter the lounge, and suppose that they are somehow credited immediately and suppose that the lounge dragon can see your new status in order to let you in (all three suppositions have an infinitesimal possibility of occurring), there is still no way that the gate agent could "delete" these miles from the M&B account. Since
all miles transactions are made
after completion of any given flight, if the gate agent agrees to change the miles after checking in (very improbable) it simply means that these would have never shown on the M&B account. Thus, the first scenario now has zero chance of ever materializing. Otherwise I could think of many ways to beat the system and make it elite+ on all programmes around.
