people here will focus on the word "appropriate", but given what the TSO's are directed to do, i will also comment when they do it calmly and professionally. the three-striper who worked with me at FAT a couple of weeks ago was very friendly and professional. it felt like a switch was flipped a month or two -- in my experience, the TSA now seems to be working to treat opt-outs professionally and get them out of public view as quickly as possible.
