YYZ-YYC for my Sunday night flights clears 75% of the time. I'd say 25% at the 7 day window, 25% at the 48 hour window and 25% at the gate (leaving 25% with no upgrade, like I'm expecting tonight with J=0).

YYC-YYZ on Thursday afternoon, I never even bother trying. I fly on lower T+ fares (S, W) and there are too many other SEs with higher fares on this route and people buying J.

Most of us are so convinced (as am I) that SE trumps E on the airport waitlist, regardless of fare class, yet I'm wondering...how is this known? Could this have changed this year?

Hmmm...could an E on an M fare trump my lowly S fare?
