i could end up flying tango plus and have the same chance of upgrading if we waited until 4 days before

the benefit that I would get (please let me know if this is right)
is if I bought latitude now and 2 upgraded seats are available for us (say in the next week - more than a month ahead of the departure) we would get upgraded if i used my eUpgrades since with latitude fares you can get upgraded before the 4 days before departure

Air Canada would have my money now if i could use my eUpgrades in combo with buying 2 latitude fares....
Latitude fare is fully refundable. If you wish to "gamble" that Tango Plus fare will not be sold out at T-4 days, you can buy a Latitude fare now to waitlist. If it does not clear at T-4 days, cancel to refund the Latitude fare to buy a new Tango Plus to wailist, but it will require more eUgrade credit though.

so 2 days before my flight i get the email that my upgrade requests worked!
so buying 2 latitude tickets was worth the extra 1000 per ticket over tango plus
if only there wasn't the 500 dollar fuel surcharge in the cost of the total fare
they really should include this in the fare price

Isn't the fuel surcharge the same between T+ and lat?
