Had a different experience this past weekend when checking out at the Memphis Residence Inn. After verbally confirming with me that the amount on the card exceeded the charge, the front desk agent swiped my TravelCard, and that was it! No scrambling, no phone calls, no delay at all.

As before, the payment was described as "Payment - Voucher" on my receipt, along with my full TravelCard number, so no mention of Visa. The good news is that I have received points & stay credit for both stays.
